Elementary

iKids is our ministry to children in kindergarten through fifth grade. When it comes to influencing young lives for Christ, we use an approach found in Deuteronomy 6...

"These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:6-9

Pretty much, it's like this... A church has 40 opportunities in a year to impart truth to a child, but parents have 3,000! At Capstone, we desire to come along side parents and help them teach their children truths from God's Word so that each child grows in his or her experience with God. Using a curriculum that gives parents tools to engage their children during those times listed in Deuteronomy 6 (meal time, drive time, bed time and morning time), we give children the opportunity to grow in their faith, while also giving parents the resources they need to reinforce truth at home.

Elementary children should check in to iKIDS in the iKIDS room, then join their parents for the singing part of worship in "big church." Kids will be dismissed prior to the sermon to iKIDS, where they learn the same thing mom and dad do. Parents may pick up kids in the iKIDS room following the service.

Since elementary children are taught the same scripture that mom and dad are learning in "big church." what a great conversation parents and children can have in the car on the way home and throughout the week. Children are given a God-Time Card to read through during the week as well.
